A few weeks ago I posted about a few bits and pieces I picked up from Boots and one of the things was the not so new Silicon Liner Brush from Real Techniques. I wanted to try this as soon as I saw it because it just looks so innovative and obviously the curiosity in me wanted to know if it really works or is more of a gimmick. So without further ado, here is my review (hehe I rhymed).
(Sorry it's dirty, I tried to clean it)
This is a super up close photo of the nib. It's not really a brush but what else do you call it?
I have never seen anything like this so I was quite excited to try it out.
I think this brush is definitely something you have to get used to, don't treat it like your everyday brush because it just doesn't work the same.
The ideas I get from this brush towards it's benefits are that there is no waste, it's super precise and cleaning the tool is so easy.
However, the cons I have found are that you have to dip your brush twice as much and you need enough on the brush so that it won't drag against your skin.
So here's an up close photo of an application I did using the brush. It comes out nice an even and I managed to get the wing looking quite fine and neat. One big thing I would say is that you need to give this brush a chance, test it out and put it through a decent enough trial before you make a decision on it. I think that it is definitely a product to get used to.
I used this with the Elf Cream Liner and different brands may make a difference to the application but I'm not sure.
Overall I really like this brush so far, I know that you need to take a little longer using it but I find that I get a finer line and a more precise point.
This was a really reasonable price at £5.99 and you can get it from Boots and Superdrug.
Have you tried this? What do you think?

i dont know if i have a steady enough hand to master this brush, but you seem to have mastered it really well! i'd love it if youd comment back http://amyelizabethfashion.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/giveaway-and-cosmopolitan-best-new.html xx
ReplyDeleteIt's looking really good! I think that 5.99 pounds is 7.99 euros? Since I'm terrible at applying eyeliner I don't think that I'll buy this brush, but if you wear eyeliner a lot it seems like a great kind of brush!
